CCMP COP29 Reporting Fellowship Program 2024 in Baku (Fully Funded)

This opportunity is about to cover the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 29). This year, the UN Climate Change Conference is in Baku, Azerbaijan from 11th November to 22nd November 2024. The Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) is pleased to announce the CCMP COP29 Reporting Fellowship Program for the Journalist who will cover the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29). The CCMP has brought over more than 500 Journalists to attend and report on the annual UN climate talks.

Applicants from low and middle-income countries can apply to attend the UN Climate Change Conference 2024 in Baku. The CCMP Reporting Fellowship aims to bring 20 Journalists from low and middle-income countries as well as journalists from the Balkans, the Baltics, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia to report in person at the Conference and cover the whole event. Financial Support for Applicants

The CCMP Fellows will travel to Baku and will arrive on November 9, 2024, and depart on November 24, 2024. The following things are covered:

  • An Economy Class Airfare Tickets
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Travel Medical Insurance
  • Ground transportation costs

Visa Cost is NOT covered by the Program, and it is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain a Visa.

Eligibility Criteria

Fellows will receive informational resources and technical support to help prepare for reporting at the conference.

  • Be a professional journalist or represent an established media house from low and middle-income countries.
  • Find the full list of the eligible countries defined by the World Bank.
  • Be able to travel and arrive on November 9 and depart no earlier than November 24, 2024.
  • Good command of the English Language.
  • Share an up-to-date resume/CV.
  • Freelancers are welcome to apply in news or journalist-related fields.
  • Provide recent, relevant, and journalistic work samples on climate change topics.
  • The fellowship is open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio).
  • Applications from freelance reporters and staff from all types of media organizations — international, national, local, and community-based.
