The applications are now open for the OHCHR Humanitarian Funds Fellowship 2026 in Switzerland. The fellowship will take place at the United Nations Human Rights Office, based in Geneva, Switzerland, from 01 August 2026 to 31 July 2027 and from 01 January 2027 to 31 December 2027. Candidates will receive a Monthly Stipend to cover basic living expenses, a Return Ticket to/from Geneva, and Medical Insurance. OHCHR stands for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. It is the lead UN agency responsible for promoting and protecting human rights. The Fellowship aims to provide Young Professionals with an experience of those who already work with people who have survived slavery or torture and how the United Nations works to stop slavery and torture. Fellows Responsibilities
- Grant Management: Check project applications and help organizations with their technical questions.
- Expert Research: Study and analyze global trends in slavery and torture.
- Data Analysis: Record “what works” (best practices) based on projects the UN has funded.
- Communications: Create social media posts, stories, and brochures to promote the Fund’s work.
- Event Planning: Help run high-level meetings and public events for the Board of Trustees.
- Team Support: Assist other UN Human Rights departments when needed.

Eligibility Criteria
- Required: At least 2 years of experience working on human rights issues related to slavery or torture.
- Experience in project management.
