Applications are now open for the Asia Foundation LeadNext Program 2026: Ambassadors for a Global Future 2026, a fully funded leadership program that brings together emerging leaders from Asia and the United States. This prestigious program combines virtual leadership training, mentorship, and an in-person Global Leaders Summit in San Francisco, USA, designed to equip participants with the skills, mindset, and global perspective needed to address today’s most pressing challenges. Moreover, there is no application fee, and IELTS is also not required from the participants.

Program Objective

The LeadNext program aims to develop a new generation of transformational leaders who can address complex global challenges through collaboration, empathy, and cross-cultural understanding. They are known as Ambassadors for a Global Future.

Structure of the Program

Leadership Training Intensive

  • Focus: Explore authentic leadership frameworks and gain skills to navigate complexity and work across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Format: 10 virtual sessions (2.5 hours each).
  • Dates: June 29; July 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, and 30.

Mentorship

  • Format: Fellows are paired with one-on-one mentors.
  • Goal: Matching is based on specific professional and leadership goals.

Masterclasses

  • Focus: Seminars led by global experts providing real-world examples of “change in action.”
  • Format: 3 virtual sessions (2.5 hours each).
  • Dates: August 20, 27, and September 3.

Global Leaders Summit in San Francisco, USA

  • Focus: A culminating in-person convening featuring an in-depth leadership retreat.
  • Engagement: Opportunities to connect and engage with partner organizations.
  • Dates: September 19–27.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Fellowship is open to emerging leaders from any sector with a strong commitment and creative approaches to addressing issues such as climate change, inequality, injustice, poverty, and other pressing concerns.
  • Age: 18–25 years old at program start
  • Language: fully conversant in English
  • U.S. applicants: Open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
  • Asia-Pacific applicants: Open to candidates from one of the countries in which TAF has had a presence
  • Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
