The Traineeship is for 5 months. Each year, the European Parliament selects around 1000 Schuman trainees. The Schuman traineeships are paid and can be undertaken at one of the European Parliament’s official places of work – Brussels, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg – or in its Liaison Offices in the Member States. The Schuman Traineeships are officially paid trainee programs offered by the European Parliament to help young graduates gain practical experience in European institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants generally must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a university degree
- Have strong knowledge of one EU language
- Have good knowledge of another language
- Have not previously worked for an EU institution for more than two months
- Meet the traineeship requirements of the selected position
- Some traineeships may also accept applicants from non-EU countries.
