Traineeships at your door. Have you ever wondered about doing an internship in the European Parliament? The Traineeships in the European Parliament 2024-25 applications are open. The European Parliament offers two types of traineeships. Schuman traineeships (Traineeships in the Secretariat) and Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament. The European Parliament chooses around 800 Schuman trainees every year. This opportunity is open to European students and students from non-European countries.

An applicant must have a University degree or Diploma. The traineeship will be for 5 Months. You must be at least 18 years old to apply. There is no maximum age limit. These are two different traineeships and we will tell you about the requirements, benefits, and the application process of each Traineeships in the European Parliament. Traineeship Dates

The Traineeship will start on 1st October 2024 and will end on 29th February 2025.

Types of Traineeships in the European Parliament

  • Schuman traineeships (Traineeships in the Secretariat)
  • Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament

Traineeships in Schuman traineeships

The Schuman Traineeship can be taken in the Secretariat at one of the European Parliament’s official places of work – Brussels, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg – or in its Liaison Offices in the Member States.

It will provide an insight and deeper understanding of the EU institutions and the European Parliament.

The Schuman Traineeships can be taken in a wide range of fields such as policies, finance, law, multilingualism, administration, infrastructure and logistics, communication, or IT.

Eligibility Criteria for Schuman traineeships

  • You must be 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit.
  • be nationals of a Member State of the European Union or an accession/candidate country
  • A limited number of traineeships to nationals of other countries can also be offered.
  • You must have completed at least three years of your university such as a Bachelor’s, or Master’s, or hold a university-level diploma.

Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament

The member of the European Parliament may offer paid traineeships in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels (or Strasbourg). Working with the European Parliament will enhance your knowledge about the working methods of the Members of the European Parliament.

Eligibility Criteria for Traineeships with Members of the European Parliament

  • You must be 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit.
  • be nationals of a Member State of the European Union or an accession/candidate country.
  • Members may offer a traineeship to nationals of third countries.
  • You must have completed at least three years of your university such as a Bachelor’s, or Master’s, or hold a university-level diploma.

Financial Benefits and Support

  • A monthly Grant will be provided to cover the living expenses.
  • A travel allowance of EUR 300 per trainee.

Required Documents

  • A copy of your university-level diploma.
  • A copy of a valid passport/identity card.
  • A copy of your criminal record issued within the last six months before the starting date
    of your traineeship.
