The applications are now open for the Google Summer of Code 2026 (GSoC). It is an International Summer Program offered by Google. In this program, Google awards stipends to contributors who have completed a free and open-source software coding project. Students and new developers from around the world will work on a coding project for 12 weeks with an open-source organization under the guidance of a mentor. Each intern will receive a stipend for completing the project. The stipend is from $1650 USD to $6600. The GSoC stipend amount is calculated based on the intern’s location. Eligibility Criteria
- Not residing in a U.S.-embargoed country
- Age Requirement: You must be 18 years or older at the time of registration.
- Experience Level: You must be classified as a beginner in open-source software development or a student.
- Participation Limit: You can only be accepted as a GSoC contributor a maximum of one time.
- Proposal Submissions: You are allowed to submit up to three project proposals. These proposals can be sent to different organizations or multiple proposals to the same organization.
