What is the Shanghai Government Scholarship?

The Shanghai Government Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship to attract outstanding students and scholars from various countries. It applies to undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and undergraduate degree programs.

Benefits of the Shanghai Government Scholarship

The Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) comes in two different types: Type A and Type B. They differ in the level of financial support they offer:

SGS Type A (Full Scholarship):

  • Covers all tuition fees for your chosen program.
  • Provides free on-campus accommodation or a housing allowance.
  • Includes comprehensive medical insurance.
  • Provides a monthly living stipend to cover your living expenses.
  • Essentially covers all major financial aspects of your study in Shanghai.

SGS Type B (Partial Scholarship):

  • Covers tuition fees for your chosen program.
  • Includes comprehensive medical insurance.
  • Does not include on-campus accommodation or a living stipend.
