Shenzhen FinTech Competition 2026 in China (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the Shenzhen FinTech Competition 2026 (FinTechathon) – International Track, an international competition for university students interested in artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology. Hosted by Tsinghua University’s PBC School of Finance in collaboration with WeBank, the competition invites students to develop AI-powered solutions to real-world financial challenges under the theme “AI as a Financial Participant.” Selected applicants will receive RMB 250,000, international travel, and accommodation. About the Competition

The FinTechathon International Track provides a platform for university students to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial services. Participants will work in teams to develop innovative AI-based solutions addressing practical financial needs.

The competition encourages collaboration across universities, academic disciplines, and national borders, allowing students to demonstrate their technical abilities, gain international exposure, and connect with the financial technology industry.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate, master’s, or PhD student enrolled at a university or research institution outside Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Chinese Taipei.
  • Form a team of 2–5 students.
  • Ensure at least 60% of team members are non-Chinese nationals.
  • Participate in only one team across the competition’s two tracks.
  • Submit all required materials in English.
