Why Consider the UN Young Professionals Programme?
The YPP is an opportunity for qualified young candidates to enter the United Nations Secretariat through a competitive recruitment process. Unlike a short-term internship or youth conference, this programme provides a pathway toward a professional career in international public service.
Successful candidates may be considered for entry-level professional positions at the P-1 or P-2 level, depending on the relevant recruitment process and available vacancies. The programme is particularly relevant to candidates interested in international development, public policy, sustainability and global affairs.
How does the UN YPP Program work?
An entrance exam is offered annually. Eligible applicants must pass the exam to be considered for the YPP.
Position Type, Level of Contract, and Duration
YPPs will be offered a 2-year Fixed contract at the P-1 and P-2 levels. After two years, and subject to satisfactory performance, you may be granted a continuing contract.
