UN Chemicals and Waste Management Program 2026 in Switzerland (Fully Funded)

The applications are now open for the United Nations Chemicals and Waste Management Program 2026 in Switzerland. The program lasts 5 days. It will take place in Geneva from 13-17 July 2026. There is no application fee, and candidates from around the world are eligible. The Chemicals and Waste Youth Platform (CWYP), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), is pleased to offer up to 5 fully funded scholarships for youth, students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals to participate in a global study program on chemicals and waste management. What is the UN Chemicals and Waste Management Study Program?

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research Chemicals and Waste Management Study Program is a short-term international training program designed to help young professionals understand how the United Nations manages chemicals, pollution, and hazardous waste at a global level. It helps you understand how the world deals with pollution, toxic chemicals, and environmental risks.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

Selected participants will receive:

  • Round-trip economy airfare
  • Hotel accommodation
  • Program participation fees
  • Meals, visa costs, and local transport (reimbursed)
  • Receive a UNITAR Certificate of Completion

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you:

  • Are 18–35 years old
  • Are from:
    • Developing countries
    • Least Developed Countries (LDCs)
    • Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
    • Indigenous communities
  • Are available for the full duration (June–July 2026)
  • Have interest or background in:
    • Environmental policy
    • Chemicals & waste management
    • Public health or sustainability
