The Applications are now open for the International Writers Workshop 2027 in Hong Kong. It is a Fully Funded workshop organized by the International Writers’ Workshop (IWW) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). Writers from around the world are invited to participate in this prestigious residency program taking place in Hong Kong from 26 February to 25 March 2027. This year’s theme is “Inheritance”. Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to address how their work connects to our theme. Participants will work on their writing and share their stories. The Program ends with an IWW Literary Festival.

About the Residency
Founded in 2004, the International Writers’ Workshop has hosted more than 150 writers from over 60 countries. The 2027 residency will conclude with the IWW Literary Festival under the theme: “Inheritance”. Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to connect their work with the festival theme
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants from around the world can apply.
- Have at least one published book.
- Currently residing outside of Hong Kong.
- Command of English or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Attend the welcome ceremony during the first week.
