One of the best scholarships in Japan is from one of the best Japanese universities. I am talking about the University of Tokyo MEXT Scholarship 2025. This scholarship is available for applicants to pursue a Master’s/Ph.D. degree for the October 2025 intake. It is a Fully Funded Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The University of Tokyo has 15 Graduate Schools and each school has different departments. You can apply for the Master’s and PhD Degree programs at the Tokyo University. IELTS is Not required if you have completed your previous education at an English language Medium University. There are two most popular scholarships you can apply to study at the University of Tokyo. One is the University of Tokyo ADB Scholarship and the other is MEXT. More details are given below.

Schools and Departments (Application)

Graduate School of Science MEXT Scholarship: The Graduate School of Science is accepting applications for the 2025 MEXT University Recommended Scholarship. The school has five departments Physics, Astronomy, Earth and Planetary Science, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences.

Department of Civil Engineering: The Civil Engineering Department is also accepting applications for the 2025 MEXT Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to all Nationals (except Japanese).
Applicants who have graduated with a bachelor’s degree can apply.
An applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 2.30.
Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1989.

Satisfy the University Admission Requirements.
