The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) is pleased to announce that applications for the Italian Government (MAECI) Scholarship 2025/26 are now open. This scholarship is available to foreign students and Italian citizens living abroad who wish to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees at Italian public or legally recognized universities. Citizens from 141 countries are eligible to apply. The scholarship aims to provide financial support to students who cannot afford to study in Italy. The MAECI Scholarship is offered for four different study schemes: Master’s Degrees, Higher Education Courses in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM), PhD programs, and Research projects under academic supervision. There is no application fee to apply for the scholarship. Further details are provided below.

Financial Coverage
The MAECI Scholarship covers:
- Exemption from Payment of enrollment and tuition fees.
- Health and Medical/Accident insurance.
- A total of 9000 euros will be granted to students, distributed in 3 installments.
- The first installment of 4500 euros.
- The second installment of 2500 Euros.
- The third and final installment of 2000 euros.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Scholarship is open to Citizens of 141 countries.
- Applicants applying for a master’s degree program must have completed a bachelor’s degree.
- Age 28 years old or younger at the time of application for the Master’s degree program
- If you are applying for a PhD Programme, must not be over the age of 30 years at the time of application.
- Applicant must be able to prove his/her English language proficiency from IELTS or any other Language certificate, such as English Proficiency language proof.
