The Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE) and the Ministry of Education grant 40 scholarships yearly to foreign citizens. For the Academic year 2024-2025 scholarships granted by the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE). International students can apply for Bachelor’s Degrees, Master’s, postgraduate/residency, and PhD studies in accredited state institutions of higher education in Romania. Students who require a Visa must apply for the Romania study visa (symbol D/SD).
The scholarship is open to all foreign citizens except the EU and EFTA member states. Priority is given to citizens of non-EU and non-EFTA states that don’t have an agreement with Romania for cultural and educational cooperation. The study language will be the Romanian Language to promote Romanian language and culture. That is why one year of free Romanian language preparatory language will be provided. Study Areas
Priority Areas: Economics and business administration, agricultural sciences, technical sciences, and oil and gas will be promoted as a priority. Applications covering other areas will be taken into account, to the extent of the places available.
Benefits of the ARICE Scholarship
- Exemption from the registration fee or any other fees.
- Free Romanian language preparatory year.
- Full Tuition fee coverage for the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degree programs.
- The monthly stipend will be given.
- Accommodation will be given in the student dormitories through the budget of the Ministry of Education.
- Medical assistance.
- Local public, ground, naval, and underground transport, as well as domestic car, railway, and naval transport.
Note: International Travel expenses and Airport Transfer expenses are not covered by this scholarship.
Students can also apply for other scholarships in Romanian Universities such as the Transilvania Academica Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
- Priority is given to citizens of non-EU and non-EFTA states.
- Romanian citizens are not eligible.
- Citizens who have applied for protection in Romania are not eligible.
- Citizens who have a long-term residence permit in Romania are not eligible.
Results and Decisions
The results will be announced after 15th July 2024. The final decision will be taken by the Ministry of Education, Romania.
The MOE, through the General Directorate of International Relations and European Affairs, will issue the Acceptance Letters / Enrollment Orders.
