What is the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship?
It is Hungary’s Government’s prestigious scholarship program to pursue Bachelor, Master, PhD, Part-time, One tier Degree programs at Hungarian Universities.
The program was founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013 and is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation.

Study Levels
- Full-Time Degree Programs
- Bachelor programs: 2-4 Years (BA, BSc)
- Master programmes: 1.5-2 Years (MA, or MSc Degree)
- One-tier master programs: 5-6 Years (MA, or MSc Degree)
- Non-degree programs
- Preparatory course in Hungarian language: 1 Year (Certificate)
- Postgraduate specialist training courses: 1-2 Years (Certificate)
In the Hungarian Education system, A tier master’s degree program covers both Bachelor’s and master’s levels of studies.
The one-tier master’s program offers in specific fields general medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, architecture, law, veterinary surgery, forestry engineering.
Postgraduate specialist training courses provide the opportunity to obtain a specialized qualification after a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

- There is No Application Fee to apply.
- For each country, there is a separate process, and study programs are mentioned. Check the Partners Tab and select your country.
- Do not forget to submit your Stipendium Hungaricum application on this online platform, starting with a registration: https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu
- Applicants cannot directly apply to the Hungarian Universities for a scholarship. You need to apply through the Designated Sending Partner Institute in your country.
- You do not need an admission offer from the Univeristy.
- Only the nominated applicants can proceed with their applications.
- Each applicant can apply for up to TWO different study programs, in order of preference.
