Indo-Pacific Leadership Lab 2024 in USA, Fiji, Japan (Fully Funded)

Three one-week fully funded seminars in the USA, Fiji, and Japan. Apply for the Indo-Pacific Leadership Lab 2024. This Indo-Pacific Leadership program is jointly launched by the East-West Center and the Japan Foundation for the rising young leaders from diverse sectors such as academia, civil society, non-profit, business, and government. Through this program, participants will deepen their leadership practice and increase their impact. The lab is for those ready to listen and learn from real-world experience and training.

The Indo-Pacific Leadership Lab is a long-year program Virtually and in person. In Person, the program includes three trips to the USA, Fiji, and Japan. Participants will spend one week in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, One week in Suva, Fiji; and the last one week in Tokyo, Japan. The 2025 Lab cohort will focus on how you can tackle the challenges and risks related to climate issues through your leadership skills. What is included in the Year Long Indo Pacific Leadership Program?

The program will virtually begin in October 2024 and will launch in person in Honolulu, Hawai‘i in late 2024, reconvene in Suva, Fiji, and close in Tokyo, Japan.

Throughout the year participants will examine and focus on how communities are adapting to climate change and how leaders can support them.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 5-10 years of deep work or research experience in an area that is related to climate change mitigation, adaptation planning, natural resources or environmental governance, or related areas.
  • Fluent in English.
  • A current passport with validity through March 2026
  • Able to commit to one week of travel to the USA in December 2024, Fiji in April 2025, and Japan in September 2025.
  • Have a track record of Leadership work.
