It is a Paid International program for journalists from around the world to spend 3 to 6 months at the Institute of Science and Technology, Austria. The program aims to promote journalism that features powerful storytelling to bring science closer to society. It aims to connect scientific discovery with everyday life. The program will be held at the ISTA’s campus, Klosterneuburg (near Vienna, Austria). The ISTA Journalist in Residence Program will start in the spring of 2026. There is no application fee, and candidates will receive a Travel allowance and Payment towards living expenses. More details are below.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Candidates from all countries can apply.
- Eligibility: The program is open to experienced science or technology journalists across all media formats (print, broadcast, digital, etc.).
- Journalist Commitments: Accepted journalists are expected to contribute to the ISTA community by:
- Hosting interactive media training sessions and workshops.
- Participating in lectures and/or panel discussions to share their expertise in science communication.
