Applications are now open for the MEXT Japan PNST Fellowship 2026 at Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech). This is a fully funded scholarship in Japan, a joint initiative of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the Government of Japan, and Kyutech. The PNST Fellowship will select up to three students for the Master’s Program and up to three students for the Doctoral Program. Successful applicants will receive a Japanese Government Scholarship (MEXT) scholarship that will cover tuition fees, a living stipend, accommodation, airfare, local transportation, and other expenses. The program aims to provide extensive research opportunities in nano-satellite systems at Kyutech.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Be a national of a developing or non-space-faring country.
- Nomination: Must be officially nominated by your home institution.
- Age: Be born on or after April 2, 1991.
- Academic Background:
- Master’s Program: Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering-related subject.
- Doctoral Program: Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering-related subject.
- Note: The Selection Committee may also consider degrees in other technological fields.

Timeline
The PNST Fellowship Program starts on October 1, 2026. Final-year students in a Bachelor’s degree program are expected to have completed their degree by September 2026.
