UNESCO Internship Program 2026 (Without IELTS)

The applications are now open for the UNESCO Internship Program. UNESCO is one of the United Nations agencies that facilitates students and recent graduates about UNESCO work, processes, and their programs, as well as enhances their practical knowledge through tasks and internships. The UNESCO Internship is open to all students from around the world. The UNESCO internship and Volunteer opportunity is a part of UNESCO Careers. You do not need to take any IELTS test for the UNESCO internship as well. The duration of the internship is six months. The Internship will be conducted at the UNESCO Headquarters, Field Offices, and Institutes. More details are below.

Who can apply?

At the time of your application to the internship program:

  • Enrolled students can apply.
  • Graduated students can also apply
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. applicants can apply.

Please note that candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree, but are not enrolled in a Master’s degree program, are not eligible to apply.

  • Age: You must be 18 years old at the time of applying.
  • Applicants must be able to speak English.
  • Computer skills: You must have an excellent knowledge of computer systems and office-related software.
  • Team player: You should be able to work well in a team and adapt to an international working environment.
  • Communication skills: You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Medical Insurance

UNESCO will only provide limited insurance coverage up to USD 30,000 during the internship period.

UNESCO will not be able to provide any support or Financial Benefits for:

  • Visa
  • Travel

Leave

Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship.

Required Documents

Before applying for the internship, please keep preparing these documents

  • You must provide your ID/Certificate of Enrollment/Diploma (if you have just recently graduated).
  • You can only use either English or French in applying.
