The Treasury Summer Internship is a Junior Professional Training program designed for students with an interest in a financial career. The Treasury Summer internship builds up the base to become a Junior analyst, a two-year position is offered in a Treasury team to the Treasury internees immediately after their graduation.

Duration of WB Treasury Summer Internship

The Treasury Summer Internship is a full-time program for ten weeks, starting on May 27 and ending on August 4, 2025. The internship will take place in Washington, DC.

Rotation 2: June 23 – July 11

Treasury Summer Internship Stipend, and Benefits

Interns will be paid on an hourly basis:

$21.30 (net – for non-US Citizens) for 400 hours
$26.00 (gross – for US Citizens) for 400 hours
Each intern will receive a World Bank laptop.
An appropriate Visa is sponsored by the World for the interns to work in the United States if required.

Location of the Internship

Interns are requested to be in person, full-time, in Washington, DC, for the entire internship (May 27 – August 4).

No. of Interns

The program will hire up to 16 interns across Treasury’s 16 teams this summer.

Departments

Treasury comprises four main departments:

Asset Management & Advisory
Capital Markets & Investments
Treasury Operations, and Pension & Endowments
Treasury Risk, Compliance, and Controls team

Each intern is assigned a Mentor and coordinator who will guide the intern.

Eligibility Criteria

The internship is open to all nationals.
Be in your third year of a four-year college or university program. If you are in a five-year program, you would be in your fourth year.
Your major should be in finance, business, economics, or a similar field. While formal studies in finance are not required.
You should plan to graduate by September 2026.
You must be available to work full-time during the internship.
Be honest in your application.
