The International Geneva Peace Fellowship 2026–2027 offers exactly that opportunity. This newly launched fellowship will bring together 10 emerging peacebuilders, researchers, humanitarian professionals, and future leaders for a funded residential program in Geneva, Switzerland.

What is the Geneva Peace Fellowship?
The fellowship is a partnership between Interpeace and the Geneva Graduate Institute, supported by the Foundation for the Adaptation of International Geneva.
The goal is simple: identify talented individuals from around the world and help them become the next generation of leaders in peace and humanitarian diplomacy.
Over the course of nine months, fellows will live in Geneva, participate in leadership training, work with host organizations, receive mentorship, and contribute to projects that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

What Will Fellows Actually Do?
One of the most attractive aspects of this program is that it focuses on practical experience rather than theory alone.
Selected fellows will:
- Work on real peacebuilding and humanitarian projects

- Develop their own strategic initiative or idea
- Attend learning sessions and expert discussions

- The New Frontier of Peacemaking: Exploring modern mediation, dialogue, and conflict resolution approaches.
- Health and Peace: Understanding the connection between health systems, conflict, climate change, and security.
- Faith-Based Diplomacy and Peacebuilding: Examining how faith communities contribute to peace processes and reconciliation.
- Youth Leadership and Peacebuilding: Strengthening youth participation in peacebuilding and civic engagement.
- Protection of Civilians: Addressing challenges related to conflict, displacement, emerging technologies, and humanitarian access.
- Women, Peace and Security: Promoting women’s leadership and participation in peacebuilding initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fall into one of the following categories:
- Recent Graduates:
- Master’s graduates who completed their degree within the past 12 months
- Advanced PhD candidates transitioning into policy or practice
- Junior Professionals:
- 1–4 years of professional experience
- Mid-Career Professionals:
- 5–10 years of professional experience
Applicants should also demonstrate:
- Strong leadership potential
- Interest in peace and humanitarian diplomacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in multicultural environments
- Availability to relocate to Geneva for the full fellowship period
